... GENDER VIOLENCE

Gender violence is still a huge problem in our modern world. It affects all sorts of people, of all ages, social stratum, education and economic level, and cultural background. Victims who suffer it are exposed to verbal, emotional, physical and sexual abuse by an agresor whose purpose is to have power and control over somebody. Gender violence does not only have an impact on the victim, but on their environement and, in extenso, on the whole society.

It is essential to withstand gender violence and fight against it in order to reach a just and equitable society. This task must be endured by all of us: we have to be aware of the circumstances and to identify the sings so we can help the victims who sometimes are unable to escape from the cycle they are trapped in. We can only do this educating the populating about the issue, legalising in favour of the victims and by engaging ourselves to the cause.

We are a group of students from Lleida. We believe that a victim's/agressor's environment is key in order to end gender violence. Our aim is to support the fight against it by giving voice to those who might know about an active gender violence situation.

That's why we created the campaign silent accomplices, the title of which already gives out the main idea of our project, being silent makes you an accomplice, we must speak up for the victims as they might not be able to.
